What a busy holiday and weekend.
Ok. Actually the holiday wasn't busy. We just had a merry ol' time as a family hanging out and relaxing. Claire had her first 4th of July and wore a cute little outfit given to her by Sue. She looked as cute as can be.
Going back to Sunday, June 30th, Claire had her first road trip to Wisconsin to see Rich's cousin Shane get married. Rich watched the ceremony while Claire and I hung out outside. Claire did sleep through the reception so we were able to mingle with the family and eat a great meal. Shane and Mary looked wonderful and it was great that some of the family got to meet Claire.
Claire had her 7wk (almost 2 month) apt. She received her vaccines and I cried. I'm a baby. I had to hold her down while the nurse poked her. She was fine (and so was I) at first. All smiles and coo-ing and then poke. It was very hard. Since then she has had a cold and has been a little fussy. She did sleep 7 1/2 hrs 3 nights this week. I hope this is starting to become routine and isn't just because of the cold. She now weighs 10 lbs 6 oz and is 22 3/4 inches long.
On Friday afternoon Rich's mom, Shari, came to visit and stayed until Saturday morning. She brought us lots of yummy fruit and it was nice just to catch up and see her with Claire. We had fun.
My parents, sister and her boyfriend all came to visit Saturday afternoon. We grilled out and stayed up watching the Tigers game. Rich, my sister and her boyfriend went next door for a bonfire and I went right to bed. Claire woke me up at a bright 6am this morning raring to go. My mom watched her while we all worked in our yard today. It was so warm but the yard has been very neglected since Claire was born so it was nice to catch up a little.
Our friends Jonathan and Kendra welcomed a baby boy to the world on Friday, 7/6. I don't know the details other than his name is Issac. I can't wait to meet him.
We have new pictures posted on the picasa web album and even more to come. She is growing so fast. Every day brings something new and more tiredness but it is wonderful. Claire has been coo-ing for 2 weeks and is really starting to laugh. She had a staring match with the cat the other day which was pretty entertaining. It is so fun to watch her. She loves being outside and it really calms her down when she's having her moments.
I hope everyone had a great weekend/holiday. More pictures to come!
